Default Bots in Beetletun... wtf?

OMG I am sitting here in American D1 of Beetletun and there is about 8 Mo/W that come in see the merchant and vanish again, they do NOT run out the door.... So what is the deal? Is this your Droks bots using a different merchant to avoid being detected... Is there something worth farming in this area other than ettins (or is that what they are farming o_O)? I have been sitting here taking screen shots and they are the same ones over and over doing the same thing over and over... o_O;;;;;?

It's obvious which ones are the bots and which ones aren't but at the same time I worry that if I report them and one or two happen to be honest to goodness monks just checking out the merch they might get swept up in a bot sweep...

So Anet there ya go =P

chances are they are trying to undo the anti-farm they have triggered in droks/elona.

i guess they probally are farming ettins, not for money, although they do still drop a gold or two, but for the main aim of gettin droks back to 100% drops.

I have noticed the same thing as well. Some friends and I had a little "campfire" at Beetletun one night, and suddenly 6 bots came by to our Beetletun HQ and was at the same exact spot. I was thinking of myself: 6 Mo/W? That can't be a coincidence.....if that was in a mission spot, it'd be a blessing!

Some of them actually go as far as to go to a certain area for a few mins and then move on over to the merchant. You can tell also that they are bots because its more than just them that do it, so they are running off the same bot program. I find it amusing to go into a town and see a bunch of Mo/W standing on top of each other at the merchant... Yeah thats not at all fishy....

Ya know you would think they would be smart enough not to rely on the same program that all the other bot users are running.... ITS OBVIOUS! -_-

Those bots are probably run by one user.

I have read about all the bots here on the forum and just went to Elona Reach last night to see what all the fuss was about. Wow. Its obivious there is something going on there. Its funny cause they all use the same running pattern. They all reach a certain spot and they start running sideways. Then they reach a certain spot and they run straight at the merchant. Insane. Now its seems like your seeing them pop up in other towns. Sad state of affairs indeed.

This is why I think they set up Factions they way they did with the closed gates and you can't run characters to the high end areas. People should support this and not complain so muc about it. Other than that, I don't know how Anet will ever stop the bots. I guess if you ban enough of the people buying the stuff for real world money then people will get scared and the bots won't have any customers. LOL ya right...banned people ususally jsut go buy an new account and start all over again, by buying stuff on ebay.

nope different guilds and such... You can buy bot programs and thats probably what these people did, if they are run by the same person he has a lot of PCs and isn't very original.

I mean I find the locked gates annoying at times but I do understand and support it.

[sarcasm]With names like "Xyyy Z" and guilds like [xyyz] - c'mon, they couldn't possibly be bots! [/sarcasm] (I know the proviso about names - these are indicative samples and not actually accurate - I hope.)

Remember, though, the bots are the expendables. Someone's grabbing every bit of gold the bots get and distributing it to other, non-botting accounts, to "protect their investment." Even if A.net went on a bot purge, it'd only be a matter of hours - days at the most - before they were back.

Until anti-bot coding gets better, it's going to be a reactive game for A.net. It saddens me to see them; its that kind of greed that has the potential of ruining the player experience in MMOs.

It's greed from NCSoft's side that let the bot's contineu, ban one account and sell two new, good for bottom line. It keeps money coming in and servers running.

They were probably all there to buy arcane echo and then move on...
I bet you will see them in Granite Citadel soon as they go out to cap SoJ.

In the days following the AoE nerf, you could see a stream of Mo/W in Copperhammer and Granite being lead north to cap SoJ. It was creepy.

Just out of curiosity, how does a Mo/W go about buying a mesmer skill?

Strange I see more W/Mo in Beetletun than Mo/W mostly just out to hunt Ettins.

That is unfortunately probably a lot closer to the truth than not. The bot problems in Lineage and Lineage 2 are just insane. Personally I think 2 things need to happen.
1. NC needs to come down harder on the botters/cheaters. This means ban accounts.

2. NC needs to come down harder on people who purchase gold/items/accounts and support these cheaters.

They should put in a clause in that unenforceable EULA of theirs saying that if you buy ebay gold you will be fined $50,000.

Actually there are a couple of different Bot threads concerning different places.

We can't really ignore the bots when, like I've said in the Elona topic, that it makes us real farmers who ANET promotes look bad, plain and simple. It makes us look very bad compared to the lazy arses that BUY gold from Ebay and other places, and the people who download BOT making programs too.

So no, we really can't ignore it when they're the ones nerfing all the areas that where generally made for us who are real and true farmers.

Elona Reach, district 1. INSANE.

All(most) follow the same odd and bottish path to the merchant, nearly stumbling over everything in their way.

It's stupid. Still boggles my mind how people can create theese programs to control everything a character can do in a game like guildwars O.o
